Successful applicant will join Dr. Matěj Velický and his team on a prestigious Lumina quaeruntur project exploiting tunable electrochemistry and spectroscopy of two-dimensional (2D) materials. You will use state-of-the-art in-situ spectroelectrochemistry approach to characterize, control, and tune of 2D materials' properties. Our group focuses on investigating electronic transport at high-doping regimes, tuning the interaction between semiconductors and substrates, and charge screening/capacitance anomalies in concentrated electrolytes. This position is available for up to four years.
Our team is part of a larger collaboration with the groups of Dr. Otakar Frank, Dr. Martin Kalbáč, and Prof. Ladislav Kavan, including more than 30 postdocs and PhDs, sharing cutting-edge instrumental facilities including potentiostats, Raman/UV/Vis/NIR\fluorescence spectrometers, TERS, AFM, XPS, UPS, LEED, ARPES, SEM/TEM, ellipsometry, optical lithography, CVD furnace, etc. We have numerous collaborators in the UK, US, Germany, France, Hungary, and New Zealand. You will have (or be close to obtaining) a PhD in chemistry, materials science, or physics. You will have an excellent understanding of, and experience in chemistry and/or electrochemistry. You will be well versed in scientific work, devising research plans, designing experiments, data analysis, formulating conclusions, and manuscript writing. We are looking for a self-motivated and enthusiastic colleague with passion for fundamental science. Excellent communication skills and ability to work within a large team of researchers is a must. The applicant will have a good track-record of publishing research articles in respected journals, commensurate with his/her career stage.
Desirable criteria include experience in Raman/PL spectroscopy, surface functionalization, 2D materials' research, micro-/nano-scale electrochemistry (SECM, SECCM), electronic transport measurement, 5+ publications in high-impact journals.
