Academic Staff Member - Assistant Professor in the Field of Molecular Biology
Research field: molecular biology, secondary producers, and ekology

The Department of Forest Ecology addresses a wide range of ecological topics, including primary and secondary production, ecological stability, and biodiversity in the landscape. We focus on the relationships between organisms and their environment, climate, substances, and human activities. Our institute is primarily research-oriented, as evidenced by our prestigious results, but we are also enthusiastic about teaching and learning. We collaborate on projects with numerous domestic and international partners, with a strong emphasis on practical application.
What will be your job role?
- conducting lectures focused on molecular biology, secondary producers, and ecology, with an emphasis on molecular biology methods within the taught topics.
- teaching in Czech and English
- active designing of new topics and supervision of students' final theses
- cooperation and active approach in the preparation and solution of scientific research and development projects, including challenges oriented to the Asian region
- publishing results in Web of Science, Scopus and popular science journals
What are our requirements?
- a Ph.D. degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology and Genetics, Molecular Biology of Animals, or a related field
- proficiency in Czech, daily communication skills in English, and at least a basic knowledge of German
- expertise in methods such as nucleic acid extraction, Sanger sequencing, electrophoretic techniques, restriction analysis, polymerase chain reaction (PCR), and library preparation
- proficiency in digital tools (e.g., GeneMapper, Chromas, SeqScape, Geneious, etc.)
- at least 3 years of teaching experience at the university level
- proficiency in MS Office at a user level
- experience in project participation, at least as a co-investigator
- a record of publishing in journals with an impact factor
- flexibility to adapt to scheduled teaching, which may occur early in the morning or late in the evening
